Touch and Pay Technologies [TAP], a Nigerian fintech company and leading processor of micro-transactions in Africa, has announced the democratization of interstate travel from Nigeria’s largest city, Lagos, to other parts of the country.
It is now possible for passengers to pay for their trips using the Cowry app, even if they are traveling through multiple states in the country. This service is now available for all formal and informal interstate travel operators within the city.

GreenHouse Capital and EMURGO Africa signed an alliance agreement to build an investment and advisory platform for fintech and cryptocurrency-focused startups on the continent and the Middle East.
EMURGO Africa is a unit of Cardano blockchain founding entity EMURGO, while GreenHouse Capital is a leading African fintech investment fund.Under the partnership deal, the two firms will co-invest in Web3 and blockchain and fintech startups.

➦ Fonbnk, Tanda to Allow Users to Buy and Sell Airtime on DeFi Platform
Web3 startup Fonbnk has partnered with merchandising firm Tanda to launch a digital airtime trading marketplace, targeting 40,000 agents on a decentralized platform.
The partnership will allow Tanda agents in east Africa boost their revenue streams by buying and selling prepaid airtime for profit on Fonbnk’s distributed exchange, an indicator of the rising stature of decentralized finance (DeFi) solutions in the region.
➦Treasury seeks to tax crypto exchanges serving over 4 million Kenyans
Kenya will start taxing cryptocurrency exchanges for commissions they receive from the over four million people dealing in digital currencies in the country if fresh regulations are adopted.
The new regulations guiding the payment of the digital service tax require platforms that facilitate the buying and selling of cryptocurrencies and other digital assets to pay a 1.5 percent duty.

In her role, she works closely with the development and engineering teams, UI/UX designers, and marketing personnel to ensure a seamless onboarding process that meets and exceeds industry standards🚀
Although there has been a push for greater female representation in the technology industry, Sylvia recognizes that the issue extends far beyond a simple lack of diversity. Despite these challenges, she has had overwhelmingly positive experiences at NGENI, citing the welcoming and inclusive community as a major contributing factor. While she acknowledges that there is still work to be done, she remains committed to supporting and empowering women in tech.
When she's not busy with her professional duties, Sylvia enjoys exploring her passion for cooking👩🍳 and experimenting with new recipes. She also actively participates in a variety of physical activities, such as hiking, nature walks, and cycling.
