â„South African fintech startup Sava has announced a US$1.8 million pre-seed funding round to develop its central spend-management platform.

Bolt, the popular ride-hailing platform, has opened a new Africa head office in Nairobi, Kenya. This new office will be a regional hub for the 7 African countries in which Bolt is operationalâKenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Nigeria, Ghana, South Africa, and Tunisia.
â„Kenya freezes Sh6.2bn linked to Nigerian start-up Flutterwave
The High Court has frozen more than Sh6.2 billion spread in 62 bank accounts belonging to Nigerian start-up Flutterwave and four Kenyans on fears they are proceeds of card fraud and money laundering.
Founded in 2016 in Nigeria, the San Francisco-headquartered firm, specializes in individual and consumer transfers, one of several fintech firms facilitating and capitalizing on Africa's booming payments market.Earlier this year, the firm raised $250 million, valuing the startup at more than $3 billion.
â„Binance CEO Meets Presidents of Senegal and Ivory Coast in West African Tour
Changpeng Zhao (CZ) announced Binanceâs partnership with JokkoLabs, one of Africaâs first social impact hubs. Through this partnership, Binance will launch a blockchain awareness and education programme throughout communities in Francophone Africa. â€Meta is planning to open its first physical retail store.
â€Telegram adds crypto payment capability to the messaging appÂ
The TON Foundation has added crypto payments to Telegram, allowing its 550 million users to send and receive ton coin within the messaging app, according to a Tuesday tweet.
While only ton coin (TON) can be sent within the app, users can also buy bitcoin (BTC) through the "@wallet" bot.
