🚀WEB3 CORNER
As the transition from Web1 to Web2, moving from Web2 to Web3 will be a gradual innovation process. It will become clear which technologies and business models are superior in the long term. And in the end, we will live in a new world.
➱What Wallets Really Are and their Even Greater Potential
Wallets are among the most amazing features of web3, but are also highly under-appreciated especially by non-developers. We in the web3 dev community could probably do a better job explaining to non-devs how they work, and why they’re valuable especially because so many non-devs already have wallets, and confusion around their functionality often leads to problems.
In web3, a wallet is really more like a keychain, a holder for a password (private key) of 64 characters that functions as your digital identity. It’s built on decades of computing research, where if you combine that password with digital data (such as a transaction or a file), the password adds a verifiable signature that lets anybody confirm that data really came from you.
➱The future of Web3 domain names
The Ethereum Name Service aims to make crypto transactions more convenient and accessible, similar to how PayPal can be used to pay a friend for lunch in crypto.
ENS is a step forward in terms of making blockchain interaction more accessible. However, because of its use and growing popularity, we may witness an increase in ENS names, just as we no longer use IP addresses to access the web.
Businesses will become more transparent and user-centric due to Web3 hostings. It opens the door for blockchain, and in the future, individuals, apps and websites will use blockchain-based domains to enable users to access the decentralized web.

➱BNB Chain launches DApp platform with 'Red Alarm' to warn users about scams
BNB Chain has launched a new platform, DappBay, to discover new Web3 projects. DappBay is equipped with a novel feature called Red Alarm, which assesses project risk levels in real-time and alerts users of potentially risky decentralized applications (DApps).
DappBay's Red Alarm is a contract risk scanning tool that helps users identify high-risk projects to avoid rug pulls and frauds.DappBay's goal is to aid the community in understanding market trends with the most up-to-date project rankings and anticipating project dangers in real-time. It also has other features that allow DApp developers to list their projects on DappBay.
➱Layer-2 scaling platform Polygon has been selected to partake in Disney's 2022 Accelerator Program to build on Polygon's Web3 technology.
Ethereum scaling solution Polygon has been selected to participate in Disney’s Accelerator Program to further Polygon’s development of Web3 experiences. It's one of six projects to be accepted in the Accelerator program which is focused this year on augmented reality (AR), nonfungible tokens (NFTs) and artificial intelligence (AI)
Polygon was the only blockchain chosen for the Disney Accelerator program which is a business development program designed to accelerate the growth of innovative companies from around the world.
👨💻DEVELOPER OF THE WEEK.
Meet Renny Langat…
“My development journey has had various changes and transformations in an attempt to always grow it day in, day out. I started out as an avid mobile developer using Java for logic and XML for the User Interface. I later transitioned to React Native for a short while before learning Flutter.”
Renny joined Ngeni as a senior Flutter developer, and through the NGENI Indensity Developer Training Program, he has been able to shift his focus to Blockchain development. “The journey so far has been quite amazing😍 from learning core concepts to bridging the gap that exists between the mobile and blockchain world.
On top of that, I have expanded my knowledge to include other languages such as Solidity, React JS, and Typescript.” Some of the projects Renny has worked on include:
1. Once App (a cross-platform application that users can mint and sell their moments in the form of NFTs)
2. Radar Wallet (a cross-platform application that lets users manage, send and receive their digital assets)
3. Edge Cards ( a cross-platform application that lets users own a virtual debit card with the ability to send, receive and make payments using the application)
“When I am not beating the keyboard to death😅, my hobbies include gaming, photography, cooking, and traveling,” says Rennie.
STORY OF THE WEEK👌🔥.
HURRAY🎉 8TH COHORT FINISHED THEIR THIRD HACKATHON.👏
NGENI cohort 8 participated in celo hackathon and successfully completed. Celo is an open-source blockchain that enables users with phone numbers to make payments with crypto by using their phone numbers as a proxy for public keys.
Their project was called swapcrypto and it was about Funding new users to the Celo blockchain space, by providing a market place to buy cUSD using local fiat KES. This is enabled by use of the MPESA mobile payment api. The platform also enables users to transfer cUSD to other fellow users on the platform.
Our Developer Training Program puts much emphasis on the demonstration of competence and proficiency. “Do it, Show it.” Using hackathons as a way to sharpen and acquire skills through active projects.
Thanks for reading👌
