â„What Does Ethereumâs Transition to PoS Mean for Polygon
With Ethereumâs switch to proof of stake (PoS) slated for mid-September, Polygon thought it would be appropriate to take a moment and look around, to admire how far Web3 has come. Now is a time to celebrate the builders and dreamers whoâve worked relentlessly on the margins to summon a more open, decentralized, and equitable web.
The Polygon companiesâ founding team came together under a uniting vision to make Web3 accessible to all and scale the publicly owned infrastructure of Ethereum. We are Ethereum fanatics whoâve been in this space for years. We believe this is the best shot we have at creating a new, decentralized web, where creators and users capture more of the value they create.
On the eve of the merge, you might be able to tell weâre kind ofâokay, more than kind ofâweâre extremely, unbelievably, falling-out-of-our seats excited by Ethereumâs upcoming transition to PoS, a mechanism Polygon has been using for years.Â
But with all eyes on Ethereum, weâve also been fielding a lot of questions about what Ethereumâs switch of consensus to PoS means for Polygon.
How will the merge affect Polygon?

â„HOW TO MESS UP YOUR CAREER AS A DEVELOPER.
In a career such as Software Engineering/ Development, which is rife with a dynamic way of doing things, it is easy for one to derail and mess up their career. Today we are going to talk about those things that can have a negative impact on your career as a developer.
âïž Learning Too much
Donât get me wrong; Learning is a good thing but doing so without knowing where to use it is a mess. The moment you learn something, try to apply it in a project.
âïžTutorial Hell
You need to find a way out of just watching videos after videos hoping your brain took a screenshot of it. Action is better than speech; therefore, practice Learning by doing, not watching others do it.
âïžComparing with others
Challenge yourself and understand that every day is a chance to be a better version of yourself than you were yesterday. Just because someone you know was able to achieve something after some time does not mean the same will apply to your case. Be in competition but only with yourself.
âïžBlindly Trusting Content Creators
âLearning Language âXâ within 7 hours and get a full-time job within 14 daysâ- Such tweets are usually eye-catching and will get one excited and thrilled. One should, however, be vigilant and only use content creators to give you a sense of direction, not career advice.Â
âïžBeing a KNOW-IT-ALL person
Thinking you know everything is a downward spiral to ending your career. Accept that you donât know something, and only then can you learn. Acquire Learning patterns, and from there, taking up a new language will only be a matter of getting language syntax, and everything else is a walk in the park.
âïžFOMO
The Fear of Missing Out- there are lots of tools, frameworks, libraries, and languages out there, and jumping from one to the other will only make you a jack of all trades and a master of none. Getting to know and understand fundamentals is better than knowing frameworks.
There are many more things that can make you fail as a developer, but in case you are stuck, do this:
Take a break
Ask for help
Be calm and patient
Take a good nap
Most importantly, don't forget that coffee!
